First week of school
Well, I made it through the first week of school. I can’t believe it’s already my third year teaching. It’s starting to feel a little easier than last year, except for the Kindergarteners. Kindergarteners at the beginning of the school year are like a different species. They haven’t learned how to raise their hands to talk (or they raise their hand while they are talking without being called on) or to stay on the subject, and every few minutes one of them has to go to the bathroom. Today I had a crying, no make that wailing, Kindergartener. He got in trouble and then started wailing because he was in trouble. The other kids were staring at him and covering their ears because he was so loud. He finally calmed down and then pretended he was asleep until his teacher came. Weird. I’m so glad I’m not a Kindergarten teacher. 45 minutes with them is more than enough for me!
