Easter Blast at Journey
What a great day we had yesterday at Journey Church! It was one of the most exciting celebrations of Christ’s resurrection that I’ve ever had the privilege of being a part of. There were several moments where I thought the place was going to come completely unglued. But the cool thing was, it never felt like hype. That’s always a small fear in the back of my head whenever I’m leading worship, especially at churches like Journey where it doesn’t take much to get people fired up. It’s the fear that the emotional element of the music itself will begin to take on a life of its own, creating a false sense of authenticity. But what was cool is that yesterday never felt like hype. People were genuinely just straight jacked-up for Jesus and stoked to just have an opportunity to worship Him as the living Christ. It was a celebration of Christ’s victory over sin, death, Hell and the grave. And it was such a blessing to be a part of it.
Pastor Jimmy began a new series called “The Beginning of the End.” It’s basically going to be a shotgun approach to biblical prophecy–of course with the totality of biblical prophecy hinging on the coming of the Messiah, His death, resurrection, and second coming. So, it actually tied in perfectly with Easter. You won’t want to miss the next few weeks of teaching. It’s going to be good stuff.
