Michael Card Concert

Michael Card Concert

Dad’s surgery was Thursday morning. The first movie when he got home was Turner and Hooch. The movies kept going for the next three days. Sunday morning we did go to church, and he felt like he was up for the concert on Sunday night. We are glad we went. There were 1,500 in attendance. The choir and orchestra did a wonderful job. Although we like Michael Card’s music, we were a little disappointed in his stage presence. The second part of the concert was him performing “The Promise” with the choir and orchestra. At least two times that we know of, he got lost and the choir director had to get the choir and orchestra with him. He talked before every song which we felt took away from the message. Before the last song he said,”For all of you non-Christians who were dragged here kicking and screaming by your Christian friends, this one’s for you.” We felt that was inappropriate.

Besides the choir and orchestra, our favorite part was a young man, Jason Gray, who has been traveling with Michael Card for the past few weeks. He reminded us a lot of our Josh – his heart and his music. If you want to check him out, his web site is jasongraymusic.com.
