Stranded
So, here is the deal. We get all packed, head off to bed, and just like in the old days, we lay there for several hours and can’t get to sleep (the word “excited” comes to mind…). We just drift off to sleep, say for 6 or 9 minutes, and the stupid alarm goes off. We need to get up at 3:30 a.m., leave the house at 4:30 a.m. to get us to the check-in counter between 5 and 5:30, and flight leaves at 6:30 a.m. Then we hop a plane to Baltimore via Minneapolis (??).
So, why go to bed at all? In the old days we would have gotten everyone up and just taken off early since we couldn’t sleep (I remember several such trips). However, the word out on the street is that the pilot is not too keen on leaving earlier. What the heck are we supposed to do all night? We are stranded!
