Tasha’s grocery hint
I’ve talked to Tasha today, so this is mostly for Deedee and Dana. I must admit that I was a little skeptical of Tasha’s saving money hint. Over the years I have (off and on) spent hours clipping coupons and going from one store to another to hit the sales. Now, we can’t use most of the newspaper sales because of Dad’s allergies. For years I have done most of my shopping once a month and have bought bulk (which I am finding is not always the most economical) and stock piled.
Well, I thought I should at least give it a try, so I went to the site and was amazed. Of course, I am still in the learning curve. I made lists from the site for the two stores where I shop. I only got things that we normally buy (extra for some items to stock pile) and was amazed. At one store I spent $100.31 and saved $72.13. At the other store I spent $24.98 and saved $46.95. And I didn’t even have any coupons! For this to work most effectively I am going to have to change my shopping habits and shop once a week. (Get my list on line on Monday and shop Monday or Tuesday.) I think it will take less than half an hour to get my list. That will also mean more care in spending throughout the month.
Thanks, Tasha! You CAN teach an old dog new tricks.
