Camp Week #3

Camp Week #3

This week I’ve been busy building drip castles … er … I mean … I’ve had the blessing of doing ministry with my buddies Scott Spruill and John Owens at Myrtle Beach Christian Retreat.  Scott’s traveled with me several times this summer, and it’s a good thing I like hanging out with him, because he’ll be with me again next week 🙂 –this time we’ll be back at Springmaid in south Myrtle with Journey Church’s student camp.  John is an old friend from Henderson, NC whom I got to know really well while I was a student pastor at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church.  John and I did a lot of events together back in the day, so it’s really cool to be able to partner with him this week.

This week we’re here doing a student camp for Green Meadows Baptist Church located near Winston Salem, NC.  It’s been awesome getting to know these students and to see genuine life change happen throughout the week. John’s been preaching through the book of Ecclesiastes every night and then each morning I’ve been bringing the Word through Jesus’ parables, trying to reinforce the evening sessions from a slightly different angle.  It’s been fun to have an opportunity to do some teaching on top of worship leading.

Thanks for your prayers this week.  We finish up tonight with the final session of the week and then head home tomorrow morning.  Pray that this last night will be a memorable one for the students and that the Lord will do a great work.  And please continue to pray for my future brother-in-law, Jay Ezelle, who suffered third degree burns on his back and arms yesterday during the filming of a camp video.  He is recovering at the Chapel Hill burn center and will undergo extensive treatment along with skin grafts beginning tomorrow.  Also pray for my sister Joy who is taking it really hard.  Thanks so much for your prayers and support.

Grace and peace,

Josh

Your music is beautiful….such a blessing!! I am sharing w/family/friends/church family. I’ve enjoyed your site and plan to return 🙂 I’ll continue to pray for Jay. God has been healing my 3rd degree burns since my kitchen fire of June 2008. It has been painful, but He has been my strength. God is good and a powerful healer. Blessings to all!!!
