Skycroft
Tasha and I had a great weekend together leading worship at Skycroft Conference Center in Middletown, MD for the collegiate ministry of Spotswood Baptist Church (Fredericksburg, VA). I met their college pastor, Doug Adams, back in January at a winter conference where he was the main communicator. For Doug’s conference, he brought in church planter, Mark Chripczuk, from Philly. Mark is launching Trinity Church (an ACTS 29 partner) sometime this Fall and has already begun small groups in several homes around Philly. Mark and Doug are both a blessing to be around. The love of Jesus emanates from both of these dudes.
It was a blessing to be able to minister alongside my wife, as always. But in reality it’s been a while since just the two of us hit the road together. And I didn’t realize how much I missed the simplicity of it. She’s such a pro. I sure do love that woman! Tasha’s sister, Deedee, took the kids for the weekend so that we could go alone. And that was a huge blessing. Thanks Repass family!
On Saturday afternoon we had some downtime so we got to visit the original Washington Monument, located about mile from the camp. That was pretty tasty. Just one of the little perks of travel. The shape, though?! Not sure what’s going on with that!!
Overall, it was a great weekend. The students seemed to be really engaged in worship and in the teaching of the Word. They asked tons of great questions. They interacted with Mark. They poured their hearts out to one another in their small groups. The Spirit seemed to really be doing a work in many of their hearts. And it was a blessing to be a part of it. One of the highlights for me was the time of prayer they had over Tasha and I on Sunday morning regarding our adoption. To hear these college students pour out their hearts to Jesus on our behalf was incredibly humbling.
We worshiped to:
- Glorious Day (Village Church version)
- Sweetly Broken (Jeremy Riddle)
- From the Inside Out (Hillsong)
- Grace Greater Than Our Sin (Via’s version)
- Our God is Love (Hillsong)
- How Deep the Father’s Love (Townend)
- All To Us (Tomlin)
- Happy Day (Hughes)
- Marvelous Light (Hall)
- O Praise Him (Crowder)
- Hosanna (Baloche)

Thank you both so much for coming and leading worship. The Holy Spirit was definitely at work that weekend and continues to work in our church and through your ministry. I am praying for your adoption and for your family. God bless!
